Get ready to see the nature of the Kavkazsky reserve in all its beauty. Our path will run along a scenic road that goes high to the mountains. The first stop on our route is tea gardens of the most northern tea in the world.
You will see here how tea is grown, learn the history of tea in Russia and will be able to taste four sorts of tea: black, red, green and yellow. The tea plantation in Khosta district is located at a height of about 500 meters. Tea which grown and harvested here has a unique taste and aroma.
After drinking enough tea, we continue our tour. Then we make our way to the Vorontsov caves. The name of these caves comes from the village Vorontsovka, near which they are situated.
Vorontsov caves are considered to be the largest caves in the Krasnodar Territory. The length of caves is about 12 kilometers and their depth is 240 meters. As for the length, the Vorontsov caves take sixth place among the caves of Russia.
15-20 thousand years ago primitive humans lived in these caves. You will see some interconnected caves, among which there are the Hall of Peace and the Bear’s Hall, Oval and Prometheus’ Halls.
You will not see even in well-known New-Athos caves so many well-preserved stalactites and stalagmites. They all are well illuminated. And even at low lighting caves can be examined in very small details.
In the Labyrinth hall of the Vorontsov caves you will see the biggest stalactites and stalagmites, the size of which riches six meters! Calcifications of bizarre shapes create a completely unreal landscape around. You find yourself in the magical Kingdom of stones.
If you are lucky, you will be able to see bats hiding in nooks of a cave. Cold silence and high arches of the Vorontsov caves make feel the power of nature.
In the end you will see the site of ancient man and the bones of cave bear, which lived here thousands of years ago.
On the way back you will find another unforgettable spectacle - the canyon Devil's Gate. Over millions of years Khosta River washed out a deep channel in the thickness of limestone rocks. As a result of the tireless work of the mountain river, incredibly beautiful canyon turned out. This place does not leave anyone indifferent.
